This view carried a moral as well as scientific force. “We are not separate from nature,” Arina told the audience. “We are part of nature and a reflection of nature. We do not evolve in isolation.”
That sentence crystallised the broader thesis of the talk. If the body is a system of systems, nested within larger systems, then health cannot be pursued as a private conquest. It must be understood relationally. The air one breathes, the food system one depends on, the communities one inhabits, the rhythms of stress and recovery, all become inseparable from longevity itself.
Arina also described human life as cybernetic, shaped by feedback loops and adaptive learning. Tools, language, mathematics and technology were not external conveniences but extensions of the self. “We create our tools and then our tools create us,” he suggested in essence, folding modern biohacking into a long history of human becoming.
