“You do not activate genetic pathways that fight cellular aging unless you expose yourself to moderate amounts of stress,” he said. “The adaptation that comes out of these hormetic stressors is where the health benefits come from.”
Heat, cold, fasting, exercise, hypoxia and even certain forms of radiation were presented as examples of inputs that prod the body into repair. These stressors, Arina said, stimulate heat shock proteins, cold shock proteins, autophagy and longevity-associated pathways. The body, in other words, does not strengthen in spite of challenge, but because of it.
It was a rebuke to modern softness, though not a reckless one. Arina’s case was not for punishment, but for calibrated exposure. Too little challenge leaves systems undertrained. Too much breaks them. Resilience lives in the middle.
The Finnish Sauna As Daily Discipline

He drew a sharp distinction between traditional sauna and infrared alternatives, insisting that an infrared setup was better understood as an “infrared hot room” because the mechanism and physiological effects differ. But the broader point was clear: thermal stress, used regularly, may offer significant benefits.
Arina cited claims that weekly sauna use could increase white blood cell production by 60% and cut the risk of seasonal flu by a similar margin. Whether listeners took those numbers as settled science or enthusiastic advocacy, the message landed. Heat, in his framework, was not indulgence. It was training.
Cold, Breathwork And The Cellular Edge
Cold exposure formed the natural counterpart. Ice baths, breathwork and hypoxic training all appeared in Arina’s catalogue of resilience practices, each designed to place the body near its thresholds without crossing them.
He described protocols intended to maximise autophagy, including 16 hours of fasting, exercise, repeated sauna rounds at 85C and finishing with cold exposure. The goal was not muscle size, he said, but longevity, lowered inflammation and better metabolic adaptation.
Red and infrared light therapy also featured as part of his long-term routine, which he said supports ATP production through mitochondrial activation. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy, meanwhile, was offered as another example of controlled pressure and oxygen stress being repurposed into recovery and anti-inflammatory support.
To critics, such routines may sound like the polished eccentricities of the biohacking class. Yet Arina’s argument gave them a coherent frame. These were not random gadgets and punishments. They were attempts to reintroduce ancient environmental signals into bodies increasingly insulated from them.
Beyond Performance, Toward Resilient Being
Perhaps the most notable shift in Arina’s presentation was his insistence that biohacking should move beyond performance culture.
“Biohacking is not about pushing more gas on the pedal,” he said. “It’s not about faster, stronger, being better, superhuman. It’s actually about training resilience, training homeostasis, training balance.”

At the event, he introduced the Holo Habits application alongside biomarker and DNA testing tools designed to track NAD levels, micronutrients, fatty acids, amino acids and genetic tendencies. The modern biohacker, in this vision, would use data not as narcissistic ornament but as a map for personalised resilience.
Mortality, Awareness And The Future Of The Species
By the close, the talk had become something larger than a wellness lecture. Arina connected resilience to civilisation itself, arguing that humanity stood at a turning point and could not meet the future with the same behaviours that had produced current crises.
“We cannot go into the future with the same rules and behaviors that got us here,” he said. “We have to become more aware and more conscious of how we conduct ourselves as a species to really thrive and survive.”
Then came the line that gave the presentation its final gravity: “Ultimately we will all die trying. The question is, how do you die in the most resilient way every single day?”
It was a startling formulation, part stoic koan, part biohacker manifesto. But it captured the paradox at the centre of Arina’s worldview. The pursuit of longevity, he implied, is not really a denial of death. It is a disciplined relationship with fragility. To live well is to train at the boundary, to accept mortality without surrendering to passivity, and to build a life that can bend, respond and recover.
